Tewkesbury is an historic riverside town in Gloucestershire, where the River Avon meets the River Severn. It is described as having one of the best medieval townscapes in England, with half-timbered buildings, overhanging upper storeys and narrow alleyways. There is a 12th century Norman Abbey, various museums and riverside walks. The main shopping area is along High Street. Today is market day.
